Rogers woman, 75, charged with murder

A Rogers woman is in the Benton County jail on a charge of capital murder.

Myrtle Marie Walter, 75, was arrested at her home Saturday after firefighters, paramedics and police responded to a medical emergency at 1105 S. 12 th Place.

Officers discovered the body of Paul Walter, 74, inside the home, according to a news release. He was shot, police said.

The emergency call was made about 2: 35 a. m., police said. Myrtle Walter was booked into the Benton County jail at 9: 02 a. m., and is waiting for a bond hearing.

Police obtained and executed a search warrant on the property. The body was sent to the State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock.

The investigation is continuing.
