FAYETTEVILLE — The beef between Dickson Street jeweler Bill Underwood and Bikes, Blues & BBQ officials is no more, as evidenced at a recent mixer hosted by Underwood during the now-famous motorcycle rally.

About 25 Bikes, Blues & BBQ board members and sponsors rode from Fayetteville to Eureka Springs and back the afternoon of Sept. 25, gathering at Underwood’s for drinks and hors d’oeuvres afterward.

Did Underwood ride ? “No, he did not,” reported Bob Corscadden, managing partner at jimbob Inc., which provides marketing and communications for the rally. But Underwood was at the ready when the bikers returned, extending an olive branch and welcoming them in for a look at his wares. In the past, Underwood had complained that closing Dickson Street during the festival discouraged would-be customers.

“Bill has really embraced the whole thing,” Corscadden added. He walked out of Underwood’s that night wearing a limited edition Bikes, Blues & BBQ belt buckle made for rally-goers and sold for $ 345. “I got a lot of compliments on it,” he said about the buckle. The clean-cut Corscadden and his tattooed and pierced partner, Jim Gardner, “make one whole biker,” he said. Underwood seemed pleased with the crowd, which included Bikes Blues & BBQ board members Pete Reagan, Neal Crawford, Dan Hebert, Ken Mourton, Bill Ramsey and Bill Clodfelter.

The 2009 Bikes, Blues & BBQ is scheduled for Sept. 23-26.
