WEDDINGS: Lassiter-Matthews

BENTONVILLE - April Leigh Lassiter and Joshua Stephen Matthews were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rex Dickey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jill and Sonny Lassiter of Bentonville. She is the granddaughter of Betty and the late Cecil Atkinson of Star City and the late Frances and Clarence Lassiter of Sherwood.
The bridegroom is the son of Brenda and Keith Matthews of Hot Springs. He is the grandson of Johnnie and Jim Fisher of Searcy and the late Violet and Wallace Matthews of Heber Springs.
Decorations for the ceremony included large ferns, wrought iron candelabra and large sheer white bows with sprengeri fern marking the pews. Nuptial music was by organist Vickie Redman, cousin of the bridegroom Ben Robbins on guitar and vocalists Paige Reed and uncle of the bride Dr. Robbie Atkinson. Cousins of the bride Leah Crow and Abby Forbis and cousin of the bridegroom Grace Robbins were guest book attendants.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory mermaid gown of Alencon lace featuring crystal and pearl beading and a scalloped sweetheart neckline. The skirt fell into a trumpet-style train. She wore an ivory fingertip-length veil accented with a metallic pencil edge, embroidered flowers, pearls and crystal beading. She carried a clutch bouquet of orange Asiatic lilies and circus roses wrapped with sheer ivory ribbon.
Sisters of the bride Ashley Lassiter and Lori Lassiter, both of Bentonville, were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Boguslawski of Dallas, Allison Durley of Chicago, Paige Reed of McGehee, Anna Robinson of Jonesboro and Meghan Hall of Nashville, Tenn.
They wore full-length satin dresses in chocolate featuring ruched bodices and a flowing sash tied at the Empire waist. They carried hand-tied bouquets of yellow, orange and red gerbera daisies accented with green hypericum berries and wrapped with sheer bronze ribbon.
Lauren Shepherd of Little Rock was the flower girl.
Best men were brothers of the bridegroom Adam Matthews and Will Matthews, both of Fayetteville. Groomsmen were Timothy Dean and Matt Godbehere, both of Hot Springs; Alex Franck of Apex, N. C.; Glenn Kuhn of Little Rock; and Jared Myers of Baton Rouge.
Helping to seat the guests were cousin of the bride Alan Bryan of Little Rock, John Bollinger of Fayetteville, Nick Reed of McGehee and Chris Robinson of Jonesboro.
A reception followed at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Bentonville. Tables were covered with ivory tablecloths and chairs were accented with brown sashes. Table arrangements included glass globes filled with red, orange and yellow gerbera daisies and candles; tall gold candlesticks; tall glass vases with red, orange and yellow gerbera daisies, greenery and twisted willow; and five-branch candelabra adorned with beige and brown pearls.
Reception music was by the band Big Stack of Little Rock.
The bride has a bachelor's degree in administrative management from the University of Arkansas and is a buyer for Dillards Inc. in Little Rock.
The bridegroom has a bachelor's degree in sports management with a journalism minor from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and is a senior human resources generalist for Alltel Corp.
After a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple will reside in Little Rock.
