ROGERS - The Hall is back.

A week after Rogers athletic director Mark Holderbaum said the Rogers Mountaineer Athletics Hall of Fame would skip the Class of 2008, it appears that isn't the case.

Billie Sue Hankins, a member of the Hall of Fame committee that selects inductees, said Wednesday this year's induction ceremony was not skipped, just moved.

"It's not that we were not going have it, we were going to have it in the fall rather than in the (summer )," Hankins said. "It's always been planned. It's never been that we aren't going to have one."

In years past, the committee reviewed applications in the spring and the banquet was held in early June.

That process has been pushed back to August and September.

Hankins said the committee will take a six-week period to review the applications and the banquet will be held sometime in September.

A date won't be picked until the committee meets again when school starts.

Applications can be picked up at Rogers High School and returned to RHS or Holderbaum at the district offices any time this summer.

The Hall of Fame, which was started in 1999 by former head football coach and athletic director Charlie Cooper, currently holds 36 former athletes and Mountie supporters.
