“ I’m bored. ”
What parent hasn’t heard those dreaded words, especially in the summer ?
Kids can escape boredom by enjoying activities provided by the Property Owners Association, attending college, joining the Boys & Girls Club of Bella Vista or attending a creative arts workshop.
Swim lessons
The POA will provide swim lessons beginning June 11 at the Metfield pool, according to Christy Attlesey, communications manager. Cost is $ 50 per child or $ 47. 50 with a POA membership. For information call Riordan Hall at 855-8170.
Donna Mayberry will teach children’s swim lessons this summer at the Kingsdale pool. The cost is the same as the lessons at Metfield. For times and dates, call her at 621-7053.
Rose Scott will teach a Mommy and Me class starting at the end of June or the first of July. For more information, call Riordan Hall at 855-8170.
Camp
The first session of Camp Bella Vista kicks off June 11.
Camp Bella Vista allows children to enjoy art and crafts, swimming, games and day trips. Both children and grandchildren get a chance to make friends and have fun, said POA recreation director Clem Morgan.
The program features special events three days each week. Monday is “ Art in the Park. ” Kids meet at noon at Riordan Hall for arts and crafts projects, followed by swimming before the day ends at 4 p. m. Wednesday is “ Traveling Day ” with trips, including a day at Blowing Springs and ice skating at the Jones Center in Springdale. Friday is “ Game Day, ” featuring tennis, miniature golf, field competitions, carnival games and, of course, swimming.
Registration information is available at Riordan Hall and the POA Recreation Office, as well as online at www. bellavistapoa. com. For details call Clem Morgan at 855-8172 or Gloria Garrison at 855-8181.

Junior Tennis Camp, which also starts June 11, offers young tennis players a chance to play tennis in the morning and swim in the afternoon. The young players are asked to bring a water bottle, sun block, hat or visor, and swimsuit and towel.
Cost is $ 145 for members and $ 155 for nonmembers. Lunch will be provided. For more information, call the Bella Vista Tennis Pro Shop at 855-8®.

Bella Vista Junior Golf members can play golf twice a week for $ 2. 50 each day, using either the Country Club or Berksdale courses beginning June 26.
In addition, junior members can take golf skill clinics on each play day.
When junior golf members are scheduled to play at the Country Club, the clinics will be offered at the Tanyard Creek Practice Center (formerly Tanyard Creek Driving Range ). When they play at Berksdale, clinics will be held at the Kingsdale practice area.
To become involved in the junior golf program, golfers between the ages of 12 and 17 can register and pay a $ 25 fee at any Bella Vista golf pro shop or online.
The fee for non-POA members is $ 35.
The first of the POA’s Golf Camps starts June 18. Each session offers four days of golf lessons for $ 90 for POA members and $ 100 for nonmembers.

The “ Torch Club ” offers 11- to 13-year-olds leadership training and teaches them how to have a positive impact on the community, including events such as canned food drives for food banks and visiting nursing homes.
The summer session runs from June 11 to Aug. 1 and costs $ 40 for the whole summer, about a dollar a day, Newton said.
