ROGERS - Main Street Rogers is planning three events as part of its fourth annual Fall Festival, coming Oct. 4 to the city's historic downtown.

DesignWorks invites families to design a frightful holiday yard decoration at its Build-a-Scarecrow event. The first 200 families who come by Frisco Park between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. will receive supplies to assemble their own scarecrow. Materials are free, and participants are encouraged to bring any creative accessories they like - hats, shoes, etc. The families will put the scarecrows together on site, then take them home when they're finished.

Baked goods, coffee, hot chocolate and hot cider will be for sale, with proceeds donated to Main Street Rogers.

The Rogers Farmers Market will hold its fifth annual Pumpkin Fest from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featured will be fall decorations, pumpkins, gourds, corn shocks and crafts, as well as locally grown fresh produce and cut flowers.

A Downtown Hay Ride will be offered by Farmers Insurance-McLeod Agency. A trailer piled high with hay bales will pick up passengers at Frisco Stage and take them on a tour of Rogers'brick-lined downtown streets. People can stop by between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to enjoy a leisurely free ride.

Rounding out the day's activities will be a fall plant sale hosted by the Main Street Rogers Business Committee. A variety of mums and pansies will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the Rogers Historic District.
