Gentry City Council

The Gentry City Council holds regular meetings in the city court room at 6: 30 p. m., the first Monday of each month. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets in city hall at 7 p. m. on the third Thursday of each month. School Board

The Gentry School Board meets at 7 p. m. in the district board room on the third Monday of each month. Springtown Council

The Springtown Council meets at 6 p. m., on the third Monday of each month, in the new community building. Highfill Council

The Highfill Town Council will hold its next regular meeting at 6: 30 p. m., Thursday, Oct. 9, at the community building. Operation Christmas Child festival

An Operation Christmas Child festival will be held in the Gentry City Park from 1-3 p. m., Saturday, Oct. 4, with cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, Little Debbie snacks, inflatable rides, basketball, and Gospel singing. The Pioneer Athletic Booster Club will meet at 7 p. m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the home economics room at Gentry High School. Business decoration

Highfill’s Hay Days celebration is set for 5 to 11 p. m. Friday, Oct. 10, at Highfill’s city park. Senior center

The new Gentry Senior Activity Center is open from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m., Mondays and Wednesdays, in the renovated building on Main Street, just east of the new library. Meals are served both days and are available by calling Jackie Bader at 736-2424. Singing services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p. m., the first Friday of each month. Refreshments are served and everyone is welcome. The church is located northwest of Gentry on Falling Springs Road. Address markers

Gentry Fire Department has reflective address markers available to help responders locate a home or apartment quickly in the event of an emergency. The reflective address markers are only $ 10 and are made to last for years. For more information, call 228-0694. Reunion

A Holland family reunion will be held at 1 p. m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Highfill Community Building. All descendants of the Ree and Cora (Penny ) Holland family are urged to attend and share family history and photographs. A light potluck lunch and snack foods are planned.
