Bulldog days planned at Decatur

DECATUR ó An entire weekend of family fun is planned for the second annual Bulldog Days Festival, Oct. 3, 4 and 5.
Following is a schedule of events to be held in Veterans Park on West Highway 102. Friday
11 a. m. ó The school band will perform and pastor Kirk Anderson will offer prayer for the official opening of the festival.
11: 30 a. m. ó The Wild Wilderness Safari, Partytime Blow Up Rides and vendors will be set up and open for business.
12: 30 p. m. ó The elementary school will arrive for a field day and the Gentry Cheerleaders, Decatur Dance Team and Decatur Cheerleaders will be performing.
4: 30 p. m. ó Hot air balloons will be available for rides and continue throughout the evening.
5 p. m. ó Espanic DJ, Fantasma, will be performing on stage until closing time. Saturday
8 a. m. ó Registration for cars and motorcycles begins.
9 a. m. ó Chicken cook-off registration.
10 a. m. ó Chicken cook-off begins, motorcycle poker run to start, car show registration on the soccer field and track area.
12 p. m. ó Matt Davis band to perform on stage.
12: 30 to 1 p. m. ó Chicken cook-off awards presentation.
1 p. m. ó Poker run returns and the motorcycle show will begin.
2 p. m. ó Car show awards presentation.
3 p. m. ó Motorcycle show awards presentation.
3 to 5 p. m. ó Calling Tokyo to perform on stage.
4: 30 p. m. ó Hot air balloons will arrive and begin setting up
5: 15 p. m. ó Money drop from the hot air balloons.
6 p. m. ó Cutting of Decaturís 100 th anniversary cake, Mike Duncanís Band and Acoustics in the Park will perform for the rest of the evening.
8 p. m. ó Fireworks show to celebrate Decaturís 100 th anniversary. Sunday
10: 30 to noon ó Sunday service by the Assembly of God church.
12 to 1 p. m. ó Ozark Adventist Academy choir.
2 to 4 p. m. ó Christian Motorcycle Association service sponsored by the Methodist Church.
Organizer David Cook advises bringing lawn chairs to the festival and Darlene Holly said itís not too late to enter the chicken cookoff or get a vendor booth for the weekend. Fore more information, contact City Hall at 752-3912.
