Alona McNeil is a proud new grandma. 6 lb., 15 oz. Cameron was born Sunday afternoon, August 24.

Dorene Wills and her cousin Pat from Neosho, MO, visited with me on Thursday and we went out to eat. Pat is a descendent of the Bates and Allen families who use to live in this area. They were looking over some of their home sites.

John and Julie Holloway hosted a family reunion for Julie’s family over Labor Day weekend. Over 40 people attended and a fun time was had by all.

Hurshel Keith is recovering at home after having another skin cancer removed.
Rick Banks is not feeling so well at this time.

Gustav passed by, left 6 1 / 2 inches of rain in my gauge but it fell in such a manner that we didn’t have any flooding, no wind and, much to 49 er’s relief, no thunder. Another 1 / 2 on Saturday, but only a trace Sunday morning.
There is a little black and white dog that roams our neighborhood, looking for some attention, love, a handout and possibility of a home. If it is yours please take it in and care for it. If not can you provide it with these things before the cold weather sets in ? My budget will not allow me to increase my “ fur family”.
Paula Carrier fixed birthday lunch on Sunday for her son Brian and daughter Amy. Others helping them celebrate were their dad Ward, spouses Diane and Tom, brother Mike, nephew Gabe, aunt and uncle and cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Lofty Carrier, Lamarise and Skylar and Grandma Peggy.
A large crowd gathered at the Tom Brooks home on Saturday evening to celebrate birthdays in the Brooks family. Barbara Brooks made a big birthday cake and pot of spaghetti for them all.
Wednesday evening Robert Hamilton took his wife, Geneva, out for supper to at the new Golden Corral in Rogers to celebrate her birthday. They were joined by Dean Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Paul Hamilton and family and Mr. and Mrs. Shay Jones and family.
The parents of Amanda Hamilton came by Amanda’s house on Labor Day and had lunch with her family. They were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton.
