Our members included Angela Rhodes, Tasha Sharp, Chelsea House, Jerad Kelley, Tanner Daniels, Tyler Anderson, Chris Cowgur, Michael Croasdale, Mackenzie Wallace, Carisa Walker, Jasmine Rosales, Jessica Price and Madison Troedel.
Students attended three meetings of their choice. Topics included ACT preparation information, Internet usage and preparation for DECA events. Mackenzie Wallace received a first place medal for her score on the marketing pre-test. At the end of the conference Jasmine Rosales and Jared Kelley won door prizes. Overall the conference was a very good learning experience and a lot of fun. Students learned more about marketing and also other helpful information.
On November 1 the Gravette HS DECA Club held the annual Karaoke Night. Students and teachers got to show their singing abilities and lack thereof. The event provides an alternative for the Halloween weekend and is an opportunity for the club to raise some funds for the upcoming state competitions.
Last Tuesday, November 4, DECA brought in presenter Amy Cook from “ The Art Institutes”. There are locations in Dallas and a new campus in Kansas City. The school is one of the leaders in postsecondary Creative Education. Topics included areas of design in advertising, fashion, interior, graphics, kitchen and bath, digital media and culinary arts related degrees. Students in several vocation classes showed interest and requested information about the school.
