Dear Editor I would like to thank everyone who donated and volunteered to help build the fountain and repaint the caboose at Centennial Park for my Eagle Scout project.
Thanks to all the scouts and volunteers who worked so hard with me; Blue Ribbon Lawns of Springdale for the pump and lining for the fountain; Bryce Graves and Scott Key for the mortar, tools and help on the Dear Editor I was recently attacked by a Saint Bernard that wandered into my yard. So I would like to address the issue of stray animals or owners of animals who let their animals run loose unsupervised.
The Benton County Ordinance states that animals belonging to an individual must be kept on their property by fence, pen, chain or in their house. Also it is necessary to have your animals collared, tagged and licensed. That way if they do get loose or attack someone they can get in touch with the owner about where their animal is or whatever is going on at the time they contact the owner. fountain; City of Gravette - Junior Hartley and Mayor Bill Howard for the support, paint and paint supplies; Westfield Home Center for the cement blocks; Benton County Stone for the sand; Snorky's and Patrick Hall for pizza for the workers; Ice House for drinks; Mike von Ree for the plaque; and Dodie at Gravette News Herald for coming and taking pictures.
Kit Kane Now if you live outside of the city limits of Gravette it is a county issue. So please, for the safety of others, whether you live in the country or in the city, control your animals. After being attacked it made me wonder about my twoyear-old daughter's safety with all of the stray animals around. I am just thankful that the dogs attacked me and not her. So please keep your animals on your property, because things do happen whether it is an accident or not. Thank you for your time and consideration. Also thank you for letting me address this issue.
