Ruth Easterbrook Bertin, 81, of Houston, Texas, died June 25, 2008.
She was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to Carl and Reba Dyer Easterbrook.
She attended schools in Siloam Springs, Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and Tulsa University.
She married Dr. John Bertin in 1986 in Albuquerque, N. M., and worked for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque before moving to Houston. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Emma Selby.
She is survived by a son, Douglas Nance of Mexico City, Mexico; a sister, Clara Frances of Siloam Springs; and a grandchild.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of First United Methodist Church July 24, 2008, at 2 p. m., with Dr. Randy Rowland officiating.
Wasson Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
