Watts, Okla.

Jerry John Black, 76, of Watts, Okla., died, Dec. 31, 2008 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Hindsville, Ark., to John and Velma Bohannan Black. He married Shirley French on Oct. 23, 2002, in Eureka Springs, Ark. He had been a brick mason for many years and later became a ceramic tile installer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Kelly Black of Sacramento, Calif., and Keith Black of Watts; a brother, Douglas Black and wife Marty of Clovis, Calif.; four sisters, Loretta McKee of Ventura, Calif., Norma Jean Caruthers and husband Jack of Prather, Calif., Carolyn Keener and husband Jim of Prather, and Charlotte Rice and husband Everett of Clovis, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be held at Fayetteville National Cemetery on Jan. 8, 2009, at 2 p.m. The Rev. David Long will officiate the service.

Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Kansas, Okla.

Naomi Juvinell Jones, 73, of Kansas,Okla., died Dec. 31, 2008, at Siloam Nursing and Rehab center in Siloam Springs, Ark.

She was born Oct. 20, 1935, to Willard Jennings and Silvia Lawson. She married Donald Jones on Dec. 17, 1955, in Tulsa, Okla. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Jones.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; a son, Ernie Jones of Kansas; a daughter, Vickie Denny and husband Dick of Cherokee City, Ark.; two brothers, James Jennings and Richard Jennings, both of Morganton, Ark., two sisters, Shrea Harmon of Morganton, and Shirley Williams of California; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Jan. 3, 2009, at Allens Cemetery in West Siloam Springs, Okla., with the Rev. Logon Shelly officiating.

Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs was in charge of arrangements.

Decatur

Betty Joann Kautenberg, 69, of Decatur, Ark., died Jan. 1, 2009, at her home.

She was born Jan. 10, 1939, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Issacc and Irene Sebeck Owens.

She was a homemaker and had worked for Crispy Kitchen as a deboner where she met her husband of 20 years, James Lawson.

She loved square dancing, boating, fishing with family, painting ceramics and was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Everett Owens, and a sister, Lois Owens.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; a son, Kenneth Johnson of Grove, Okla.; a daughter, Dawn Johnson of Decatur,; four grandchildren; a greatgrandchild; and a brother, Ervin Owens of Decatur.

A graveside service was held at Decatur Cemetery on Jan. 3, 2009, with the Rev. Frank Cook officiating.

Woodland, Texas

Dorothy Williams, 88 of Woodland, Texas, formerly of Newport, Ark., died Dec. 25, 2008.

She was preceded in death by husbands; James Warren and Nelson Williams; two sons; her parents; two brothers and a sister.

She is survived by a son; William Warren and wife Donna Kay of Woodland, a daughter; Callie Hailes and husband Jerry of Augusta; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 30, 2008, at Dillinger Chapel with burial in Coffeyville Cemetery.

Dillinger Funeral Home in Newport, was in charge of arrangements.

Siloam Springs

William "Will" Gray Wasson, 17, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died January 1, 2009 at the home of a friend in Siloam Springs. Born October 22, 1991 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he was the son of Danny Wasson and Carolyn Appleby Fagan Wasson. He was a lifetime resident of Siloam Springs, and was a junior at Siloam Springs High. Will enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, hanging out with friends, and playing with his dog Lucy. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, Danny Wasson and Lyn of Siloam Springs; his mother, Carolyn Wasson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one sister, Bryn Wasson of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; his step-brother, Collin Stancomb of Cincinnati, Arkansas; paternal grandparents, Bob and Sharon Wasson of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Virginia (Ebie) Matula and Dick of West Hampton, New York; maternal grandfather, DuVal Fagan of Springdale, Arkansas; paternal step-grandmother, Mary Rosewicz of Cincinnati, Arkansas; paternal aunt, Carla Wasson of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; maternal uncle Mike Fagan of Springdale, Arkansas; maternal aunt, Virginia (Sissy) Smith of Helena, Arkansas; paternal great uncle and aunt, Steven and Paula Allen of Little Rock, Arkansas; and cousins Drew Smith, Nate Smith, Virginia Smith, Caroline Smith all of Helena, Arkansas; and Anna Fagan and Allison Fagan, both of Springdale, Arkansas, and Randall Davidson of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Meggin Warpinski of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Cory Jenison, Tyler Littlejohn, Paul Abbey, Jonathan Biswell, Chris Evans, Zack Hudson, Sawyer Evans, and Cody Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Smith, Nate Smith, and Cory Greenhaw.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2009, at the Cathedral of the Ozarks Chapel at John Brown University, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Dr. David Bush and Dr. Randy Rowlan officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.
