Mounties offense, defense moving in different directions

ROGERS - The Mounties' offense and defense have gone in different directions since last week's intrasquad scrimmage.
"The offense bounced back and defense took a step back," coach and better," Peacock said. "It's not like he's got to prove anything. We know what he can do. We certainly don't want to bring him back too quick."
Senior move-in Justin Reed, who rumbled for a 95-yard touchdown during the team scrimmage, has gotten plenty of reps in Tibbs' absence.
"It's given us an opportunity to really take a good look at him," Peacock said. "He's done really well."
Sophomore Graham Parker has done well replacing Melton, who emerged this summer as a playmaker.
Peacock doesn't know if either injured player will be ready by next week's scrimmage.
The Mounties will travel to central Arkansas for a scrimmage against former Mountie Ronnie Peacock said. "I know that's just the way it happens sometimes. We're kind of beat up a little right now. It's hard to be consistent and keep continuity when you're running a lot of people in and out."
The Rogers offense is still missing two key players. Senior running back Michael Tibbs is still nursing a hamstring injury while junior receiver Ethan Melton has missed more than a week with a sore ankle.
