Landry named to preseason Player to Watch list for golf

For the second consecutive season, Arkansas senior Andrew Landry has been named to the Golf World "Top 50 Male Players to Watch "list for the upcoming season. The two-time All-American performer finished the 2007-08 season as the Razorbacks' leader in scoring average and top-10 finishes.
During his junior year, Landry was Arkansas' top finisher in seven of 12 events played. He posted a scoring average of 72. 83, seven top-10 finishes and a season-high finish of a share of second place at the Border Olympics last season. He led the Razorbacks to their first regional appearance since the 2004-05 season.
At year's end, he was named to the honorable mention PING All-American team for the second time in his Arkansas career. Landry is the eighth Razorback to be named a two-time All-American. He was also named to the PING All-South Central region team. He is also a two-time All-SEC selection.
Landry is entering his senior season off an impressive run at the 2008 U. S. Amateur Championship. He advanced to the round of 16 with victories over Scott Langley, 2 and 1, and the University of Florida's Billy Horschel, 5 and 3, in the first and second rounds, respectively.
In 26 events played at Arkansas, Landry has totaled 16 top-10 results and has a 72. 5 scoring average. He had a career-best round of 65 and a low-54 hole total of 208, which he has equaled three times.
