GAELIC FOOTBALL • The Northwest Arkansas Rovers Gaelic football team seeks new players in preparation for the 2009 season. Gaelic football is a fast-paced sport from Ireland that vaguely resembles a cross between soccer, rugby and basketball. The Rovers compete in the North American County Board against clubs such as Little Rock, Kansas City, and St. Louis. Training is co-ed and suitable for a wide range of ages. Some games will be played co-ed as well. There is no cost to play and no travel requirements though participation with the travel team would be appreciated. PAGNOZZI CHARITIES • The 17 th Annual Tom Pagnozzi Charity Golf Tournament, Banquet and Sports Memorabilia Auction will be held Oct. 16-18. The event will kick off Oct. 16 with a four-person scramble golf tournament at Fayetteville Country Club. Morning and afternoon flights will take place on Oct. 17. Golf teams are available and are $ 800 per team, or $ 200 for an individual. On Oct. 18, the banquet and sports memorabilia auction will be held at the Fayetteville Town Center at 6 p.m. Former Arkansas track and field athlete Mike Conley Sr. will be the guest speaker. Tickets are $ 35 and tables are $ 500 and $ 1, 000. All proceeds raised will benefit the Pagnozzi Youth Sports Scholarship Fund.
