DINO-MITE Anyone heading south for the Arkansas-Texas football game the weekend of Sept. 13-14 might want to check out the DinoLand exhibit at Zilker Botanical Garden at 2220 Barton Springs Road. The exhibit, which will run from Sept. 6 to Nov. 30, will feature 30 life-like dinosaur models of various shapes and sizes. They will be stationed next to the Hartman Prehistoric Garden, a 2-acre habitat filled with Cretaceous plants. Admission to the gardens is free, but admission to the exhibit is $5/adults and $3/children ages 3-13. Children 2 and younger get in free. The gardens are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. EAT UP, LISTEN IN The Southern Gospel Picnic will run at Silver Dollar City from now through Sept. 7. Patrons can enjoy a Southern-style picnic in the daytime and close out the evening by listening to more than 300 of the country's biggest names in gospel music. CRAFTY 'FOLK' The Ozark Folk Center State Park will be the site of a Gallery Walk from 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 13. Held in conjunction with Beaten Path Studio Tour from Sept. 12-14, patrons can walk through the center's craft village and explore more than 20 craft houses. Crafters will be on hand showing their trades such as blacksmithing, basket making, leather carving and silversmithing. The walk is free to tour participants. WE ARE FAMILY "Fall into Science Family Learning Days"will continue on Sept. 24 at the Discovery Center of Springfield. The day's theme will be "Invention-Convention,"focusing on the topics of engineering and inquiry. The days happen once a month in the fall, when the center offers special activities and classes for families exploring science concepts together. The event features additional fees, ranging from $3-$6, for the hands-on activities and Web site access with additional materials. SHADES OF BLUES The Oklahoma Blues Festival will take place Sept. 5-6 at the intersection of Boulder Avenue and Brady Street. More than 65 bands will present their brand of blues on four stages at the all-ages event held on the closed streets.
