photograph by Charles Daily Record The first-ever Rogers Heritage High School Homecoming was Friday, Sept. 26. During an early afternoon assembly, junior Brenda Mendoza learned she had been elected Homecoming Princess. There are no seniors at Heritage this year, so the title Homecoming Queen will be saved for next year. At the assembly her escort was junior Matthew "Spanky"Purdy (above, with game ball ), but her father, Mario Mendoza, escorted her during the football game. Top, right, Heritage football players did the "chop "during the assembly. A parade through downtown featured floats from several high school student organizations and from the elementary schools whose students will attend Heritage.
