Ed McClure, director, will be casting Ralphie and his young brother (approximately 8 and 12 years old ); Flick and Schwartz, Ralphie's friends and classmates; Scut Farkas, a bully; several girls, ages 8 to 12; Ralphie's father and mother, and Miss Shields, his teacher. An older version of Ralphie, who narrates the story, will also be cast.

Disabled American veterans So many veterans feel confused about benefits and services they've earned. There's so much to know and so many changes from one year to the next. The nonprofit DAV and the Harley-Davidson Foundation have teamed up to offer help. The DAV Mobile Service Office will be at the Pig Trail Harley-Davidson, 2409 Hudson Road, Rogers from noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 26 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 27 to personally provide the best counseling and claim filing assistance available. This event is part of the nationwide Harley's Heroes tour and is free to all veterans and members of their families. Pathfinder NWA Fishing Derby The second annual Pathfinder NWA Fishing Derby will be held starting at 8: 30 a.m. Sept. 27 at Veterans Park in Rogers.
Clients will participate in a tournament from 9 a.m. to noon. After the tournament, everyone is invited to fish. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place and biggest fish. Prizes will also be awarded for 200 tagged fish provided by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Registration will be held the day of the derby.
Bring a fishing pole and lawn chairs. Following the tournament there will be a fish fry with all the trimmings plus beverages. Other foods will be available. Live music will be provided.
Volunteers are needed to help clients fish, cook, set up and tear down. Call 254-6717 or 790-2238 to volunteer. Benton County Search and Rescue'Bootleg Bash' In celebration of 20 years of service to the area, Friends of Search and Rescue will be hosting a "Bootleg Bash"in honor of Benton County Search and Rescue. The event will be held Oct. 3 and 4 at Horseshoe Bend Park, Arkansas Highway 94 East of Rogers. In the event of inclement weather, back-up dates will be Oct. 10 and 11.
Saturday morning will be a public event with booths and demonstrations to entertain and educate people of all ages. Booths will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Demonstrations will be held between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Free parking and shuttles will be offered on Saturday from 7: 30 a.m. to 10: 30 p.m.
