American Legion fish fry American Legion Post 100, Rogers, will hold a fish fry from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the post home, 711 Persimmon St., across from the post office.
Menu will consist of catfish fillets, french fries, hush puppies, baked beans, slaw, onions and drink for $ 7 adults (suggested donation ).
Eat in or carry out; free delivery on five orders or more. Order ahead by calling 631-1298.
The Ladies American Legion Auxiliary will hold a bake sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit American Legion Children's Home. Arkansas Volunteer Coordinators Association The Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Arkansas Volunteer Coordinators Association will host its second annual Nonprofit Networking Event at noon Oct. 8 at the new United Way of NWA office in Lowell.
Come out and mingle, and hear special guest speaker Dick Trammel share his experience and perspective on volunteering.
A light lunch will be provided and the event is free to anyone working in nonprofit or in volunteer management. Registration is recommended, but not required.

Garden Club of Rogers The Garden Club of Rogers will have the fall meeting at 10: 30 a.m. Oct. 7 at Beaver Lake Aviation, located at the Rogers Airport. The cost of the meal will be $ 7. 25 per person, including tip.
The program is "Winter Pizzazz," which focuses on plants to add interest to dreary winter gardens by Dr. Jon T. Lindstrom, associate professor, Department of Horticulture, University of Arkansas.
The horticulture committee will present unusual plant types throughout the year and offer them as door prizes.

Chapter CD will meet at noon Oct. 6 at Concordia Healthcare, 1 Concordia Dr. Chapter members and unaffiliates wishing to attend should contact Jeanne Redway at 855-2754 to make reservations. Cost of lunch is $ 6. 10 and will be served in the dining room at noon. Betty Exline will present the program. Preceptor Alpha Upsilon The meeting of Preceptor Alpha Upsilon was held Sept. 22 at the home of Vicki Lunsford, with 12 members present. Nancy Chaffee called the meeting to order with the Opening Ritual. Susan Shumate read the minutes and Bobbi Poe gave the treasurer report. Both were approved as presented. Jane Gustin reported the Service Committee would meet following the meeting.
The next meeting will be Oct. 13 at the home of Callie Ockerman. Rozanne Lovell read from the Yard Stick regarding Traditions. Nancy King won the door prize. The special project was given to Jane Gustin to start the new year. Secret Sister gifts were exchanged and Nancy Chaffee won the drawing.
After adjournment, refreshments were served and the program presented was from Vicki Lunsford's trip to Washington, D. C., about voting, the Constitution and other interesting tidbits. A reminder to all to bring the snacks next meeting for the Children's Advocacy Center.
