Hatfield

Denis Martin Bramblette

Denis Martin Bramblette, 60, of Arlington, Va., and Tampa, Fla., died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at his home in Arlington of cancer. He was born Dec. 29, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Lee C. Bramblette and Ethelyn Weibel Bramblette.

He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in Cedar Falls, Iowa, in 1966 and received Bachelor of Arts and master's degrees from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. He married Karen Jewell Papritan on May 9, 1969, and they later divorced. He married Pamela Mason on Dec. 31, 1995, in Tampa.

He was employed in the Office of the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the U. S. Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D. C. Prior to joining FEMA, he served as editor, publisher and CEO of Responder Publications in Tampa. He previously owned an advertising agency, The Bramblette Business Group in Cedar Falls, and was an instructor in the Department of Communications at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. He served several terms as a member of the Cedar Falls Planning and Zoning Commission and was a member of the Cedar Falls Jaycees for many years. He was an active member of the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church in Tampa. He enjoyed reading, sports, pets, gardening, boating and classic automobiles.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Corrine Rothmeier.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Bramblette; three daughters and sons-in-law, Dana Mather and Jim Mather of Rogers, Ark., Brandy Jochumsen and Jason Jochumsen of Hudson, Iowa, and Lacey Snoke and Eric Snoke of Canal Winchester, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Kay Gray and Bill Gray of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Taylor Jochumsen, Tara Jochumsen and Connor Jochumsen, all of Hudson, and Sarah Snoke of Canal Winchester.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church in Tampa, Fla. Arrangements are by Arlington Funeral Home. Dewey Blaine Carmody

Dewey Blaine Carmody, 90, of Centerton, Ark., died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Ashley Health and Rehabilitation in Rogers, Ark. He was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Arcadia, Neb., to Edward Carmody and Golda Etta Shepard Carmody.

He was raised and educated in Nebraska. He married Jewel Glaser on Sept. 13, 1954, in El Centro, Calif. The couple lived in Lemon Grove, Calif. He owned and operated Carmody's Cabinet Shop. The couple moved to Bend, Ore., in 1958 and owned Carmody's Cabinet Shop and Lake-Land Marina. He retired in 1974 and later moved to Lakeview, Ark., then to Anderson, Mo., in 1985, and to Centerton in 1999. He enjoyed fishing and dancing.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Richard, Warren, Raymond, Morris, Ernst LeeRoy "Corky"and Alfred; three sisters, Myrtle Banta, Dorothy Heine and Edna Rankin; and a granddaughter, Monica.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Carmody; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dewey "Corky"Carmody Jr. and Sheri Carmody of Evans, Wash., and James Louis Scheidle of Rogers, Ark.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Lorretta Ann Pinkerton and John Pinkerton of Hemet, Calif., Charlotte Gregg of San Marcos, Calif., Barbara Gallego of Seattle, Wash., and Carolyn Tobin and Tim Tobin of Bothel, Wash.; a sister, Betty Dobbs of Searcy, Ark.; a brother-in-law, Chuck Glaser and his wife Dorothy Glaser of Bella Vista, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Landwehr of Bella Vista; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory in Bella Vista, Ark., with Brother Stuart Bell.

Mary Ann Edds, 92, of Bentonville, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Rogers, Ark. She was born April 28, 1916, in Linton, N. D., to Nicholas Heisler and Magdalena Kunz.

She attended beauty school and had her own shop in Laguna Beach, Calif., prior to moving to Arkansas in 1993. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, and won a blue ribbon in the Arkansas regional senior-citizen recipe contest for desserts in Harrison, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl "Curley"Edds; and 15 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include a son, Steven Edds of Woodland, Texas; a daughter, Earlene Craft of Rogers, Ark.; a brother, Frank Heisler of Lodi, Calif.; three grandchildren, Tiffany Alexander, Heather Sweeting and Christina McCool; a greatgrandchild, Katlyn Sweeting; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel in Bentonville, Ark., with the Rev. Rex Dickey. A committal service was held at the Westville Cemetery in Westville, Okla. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville. Jack Wayne Hatfield

Jack Wayne Hatfield, 67, of Anderson, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at his home. He was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Noel, Mo., to Luther Thomas Hatfield and Martha Carolina Pratt Hatfield.

He was a lifelong resident of McDonald County, Mo. He married Midge Barton on Dec. 2, 1966, in Anderson. He worked as a maintenance superintendent at the Poultry Plant in Noel for 35 years. He enjoyed attending Wednesday-night singings and special occasions at the Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Anderson. He enjoyed gardening, mowing grass and hunting.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin Hatfield, Gene Hatfield, Ed Hatfield and Jim Hatfield; and a sister, Doris Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Midge Hatfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert Hatfield and Wilma Hatfield of Anderson; two daughters, Lisa Hatfield of Rogers, Ark., and Dana Wright of Neosho, Mo.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene Mitchell and Bill Mitchell of Noel, Mo., and Pat Hutchens and Jerry Hutchens of Anderson; three grandchildren, Levi Wooten, Clary Wright and Jackson Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

Lois Roller Huskey, 76, of Rogers, Ark., died on Sept. 15, 2008. She was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Monte Ne, Ark., to William and Ethel McGarrah.

She married Johnny H. Roller on Dec. 27, 1948. The couple worked together building a successful farm and business, and attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Rogers, where both were active members. She taught primary-grade Sunday school, and both writing and directing Easter and Christmas plays. She also sang in the church choir. She was an avid reader.

She married Lavern Huskey on Oct. 13, 1993. The couple enjoyed traveling and spending time camping in their RV.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Johnny Roller, who died in Sept. 1990.

Survivors include her husband, Lavern Huskey; three stepdaughters, Joyce, Sheila and Beverly; four sons, Jerry Roller and wife Janelle of West Fork, Rickey Roller and wife Cheri of Elm Springs, Jack Roller of Seligman, Mo., Tony Roller and wife Annette of Rogers; two daughters, Shella Sherry and husband Rod of Russellville and Rebecca Roller of Centerton; 15 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 19, at Rogers Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Arthur Lee Galloway. Burial was in Benton County Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were her sons and grandsons. James Vernon Lewis Sr.

James Vernon Lewis Sr., 68, of Lowell, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark. He was born June 4, 1940, in Omaha, Neb., to Samuel Lewis and Irene Uptegrove Lewis.

He grew up in Omaha and moved to Arkansas in 1953. He married Wanda Cox on July 11, 1985. He was a security officer with Northwest Arkansas Investigation and a truck driver for JTL Jones Trucking. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 4418 in Springdale.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lewis; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jean Rector and Steve Rector of Fayetteville, Ark., and Patricia Treat and Joel Treat of Springdale, Ark.; a son, James Vernon Lewis Jr. of West Siloam Springs, Okla.; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Sam Lewis and Carol Lewis of Omaha, Neb., Ivan Lewis of Siloam Springs, Ark., Robert Lewis and Sharron Lewis of Bentonville, Ark., and Floyd Lewis and Mary Lewis of Rogers, Ark.; a half brother, Alvin Gitchell of Omaha; four stepchildren; 17 grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 19, at the Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark. Burial was at the Fairmount Cemetery near Siloam Springs. Bette Jane Locander

Bette Jane Locander, 81, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Ark. She was born July 3, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Gustav Nordstrom and Elizabeth Nordstrom.

She married Donald Locander 60 years ago in Texas. She had lived in the Rogers area since 1971, when the couple moved from Glenview, Ill. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church ins Rogers and the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 100 and the Disabled American Veterans. She was active in the Ladies Quilting Club of Rogers. She enjoyed playing the organ and was involved in the Peddle Pushers Organ Club.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Darla Reeves; a brother; and a sister.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Donald E. Locander; a son, Dale Scott Locander of Rogers; a daughter, Bonnie Kaythleen Sanchez of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Lucille Rohner of Wisconsin; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jamie Sue Melroy, 40, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at her home. She was born Oct. 31, 1967, in Omaha, Neb., to Eugene William Melroy Jr. and Lois M. Epperson Melroy.

She worked for the Benton County Women's Shelter, had a tax business with her father and was most recently employed as a staff accountant for Downstream Casino, west of Joplin, Mo. She was a member of the Bella Vista Baptist Church. She taught line dancing and was an avid Bentonville football fan. She enjoyed reading, video games, bowling and going to shows in Branson, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Melroy Jr.

Survivors include her mother, Lois Melroy of Bella Vista; a sister, Michelle Marie Douthit of Bentonville, Ark.; a niece, Amber Douthit of Bentonville; and her boyfriend, Todd Heft of Rogers, Ark. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Bella Vista Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael McCauley. Burial was at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse, Ark. Fredamae Moog, 98, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, in Rogers. She was born Oct. 8, 1909, in Maryville, Tenn., to Fred Jones Eldridge and Effie Mae Eldridge.

She married Forrest J. Moog on Nov. 24, 1933, in Independence, Mo. She was a stenographer for Unity School of Christianity in Lee's Summit, Mo. She and her husband moved to Rogers in 1970 from Mason City, Iowa. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Rogers for more than 30 years and participated in civic and community organizations. She was an avid golfer at the Prairie Creek Country Club. She was a member and leader in several duplicate and couples bridge clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest J. Moog, on Sept. 28, 2000.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Fred Moog and Jan Moog of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Neslage and Fred Neslage of Rogers; seven grandchildren, Steve Moog of Virginia Beach, Va., Doug Moog of Williamsburg, Va., Peter Moog of Maplewood, N. J., Michael Moog of Knoxville, Tenn., Jill Miller and Todd Schrader, both of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Kurt Schrader of Villa Park, Ill.; 18 greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Arley United Methodist Church in Kearney, Mo. Arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Helen Louise Pile, 87, of Lowell, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. She was born April 2, 1921, in Somerset, Pa., to Joseph Ringer and Emmaline Zimmerman.

She moved to this area in 1945 and was a co-owner and bookkeeper for Pile's Vault and Septic Tank Co. in Lowell form 1946 until her retirement in 1973. She was also a co-owner of the Twin Arch Motel in Fayetteville, Ark., for several years. She was a Christian and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Albert Pile; a stepdaughter, Mildred Wendle; two brothers, Delver Zimmerman and Charles E. Ringer; and three sisters, Dorothy Mihaley, Cora Whipkey and Peggy Budinack.

Survivors include two stepsons, Ronald Pile and his wife Helen Pile of Lowell and Alfred Pile and his wife Betty Pile of Somerset, Pa.; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Ringer and Mary Ringer of South Connellsville, Pa.; and a nephew, Joe D. Ringer of Mount Pleasant, Pa.

Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 19, at the Rogers Cemetery in Rogers, Ark., with Billy James Hargis and Bonnie Choisnard. Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge. Lucille Joyce Sederstrom

Lucille Joyce Sederstrom, 85, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale, Ark. She was born May 23, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Frank Kern and Emma Ehlke Kern.

She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers. She enjoyed gardening and playing on her computer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Sederstrom.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry D. Guenther Sr. and Jo Guenther of Parkersburg, W. Va., and Jeffrey L. Sederstrom and Mary Sederstrom of Barabo, Wis.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Melody L. Neitzer and Linda Taylor, both of Rogers, and Kathleen A. Roberts and David Roberts of Marathon, Fla.; a sister, Ethel Piecuch of Sebring, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Juan Torres Trujillo, 70, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at Regency Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Mexico, to Silverio Torres and Epifania Trujillo.

Survivors include two sons, Ruben Torres of Mexico and Juan Torres of Rogers; a daughter, Maribel Torres of Rogers; three sisters; two brothers; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 19, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Burial will be at a later date in Mexico.

Cremation arrangements were by Beards Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Fayetteville. Marie R. Voosen

Marie R. Voosen, 83, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at her home. She was born May 19, 1925, in Lewiston, Maine, to Loretta Sinclair.

She moved to northwest Arkansas in 1991 from Fresno, Calif. She had worked for the U. S. Forestry Service in Yosemite National Park and for Hughes Aircraft, and retired from the Rand Corp. as an executive secretary with more than 30 years of service.

She was a volunteer with the Adult Literacy Council and helped adults learn to read. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and oil painting.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Bernard Voosen.

Survivors include two sons, David DuBois of Santa Monica, Calif., and Richard DuBois of Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Diane Dubois of Rogers and Nancy Fortenberry of Santa Maria, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.
