LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

This I believe People sometimes complain that Christians are intolerant because we proclaim that Jesus is the only way to God. But consider this, Arkansas'Pulitzer-prize-winning philosopher Paul Greenberg, a Jew, said on 11-15-06 in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette," Your beliefs will never impress others unless they are displayed, and what else are beliefs good for ? They need to be shined and polished and rolled out, preferably in a portentous Edward R. Murrow voice: ' This I believe. ' Not to broadcast your beliefs is to be selfish, a miser with your thoughts."
Christians who accept the Bible as God's infallible Word to mankind believe that every one of us has failed to keep God's eternal commandments," You shall love the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul; and your neighbor as yourself. "Thus, we are all guilty of not meeting His high standards. Moreover, a just God must punish the guilty. However, because He loves us and desires our companionship, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, as a human to suffer our deserved punishment. We must receive His gift by faith. God said," He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. "John-3: 36 Since Jesus commanded," You shall love your neighbor as yourself. "And, since Christians want for ourselves, God's: love, joy and inner-peace now plus heaven later; we are compelled to tell our neighbors how to receive that love, joy, peace and how to avoid God's wrath. So please understand that it is out of genuine love that concerned Christians tell of God's eternal Christmas gift, who said of Himself," I am the way, and the truth, and the life; and no one comes to the Father, except through Me.
