SPRINGDALE -- Peace at Home Family Shelter is pleased to announce Fiesta 2008 to be held in Springdale Civic Center on Sat. Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Fiesta 2008 is a community centered event to promote awareness of domestic violence and showcase the extensive network of partners engaged in our mission to end domestic violence.
Peace At Home also takes this opportunity to share information about domestic violence and, especially, to share how the community can provide a safe and secure living environment for everyone. Key members of the community will join in helping support families, neighbors, and friends working to end domestic vi olence throughout Northwest Arkansas for a press conference at 1 p.m. As a result of this event, survivors of domestic violence will know they are not alone and they are supported by their community.
Fiesta 2008 will be a funfilled day for families and children that honors survivors of domestic violence and recognizes Peace At Home Family Shelters 30 years of service to the community.
Over the past four years, more than 5, 000 people have attended Fiesta and a record breaking crowd is expected for the 2008 edition of this event. The event continues to attract larger crowds each year because the event offers activities for a wide variety of people and interests.
