Golden Age Club hosts meeting with special guest speaker

The West Fork Area Golden Age Club will meet Oct. 6 for a Pot-Luck lunch, 11: 00 a. m., at the Power House Bldg., West Fork First Baptist Church, 246 N. Centennial Ave. (U. S. 71 ). West Fork; Call 479-839-2388 for information. A program will follow the Lunch.
The speaker is Dr. Keith Vire, who currently serves as CEO of Arkansas Support Network, Inc. (ASN ) in Springdale. ASN is an agency promoting total community inclusion for persons with disabilities. In addition to working for individuals with disabilities and their families, Dr. Vire has been actively involved in local housing and transportation issues and serves on many boards and committees which promote improved quality of life for low income persons and persons with disabilities. He was a founding member and past president of the Board of Directors of the Ozark Foodbank, and has served as President of the Arkansas Rehabilitation Association.
In July of 2002, Keith was appointed by Governor Huckabee to serve on the Arkansas Independent Living Council where he served as a member of the Executive Committee. In 2008, he was reappointed by Governor Mike Beebe to serve on the Arkansas Independent Living Council where he currently serves as Chair.
In September, 2003, Keith was chosen as a Walton Distinguished Doctoral Fellow at the University of Arkansas, where he recently completed his Ph. D. in Rehabilitation.
