Prentice Myers Prentice Myers, 93, of Elkins, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice Home. He was born Sept. 30, 1915, in Winnsboro, La., to Louis and Lilly Maude Crider Myers. He was a selfemployed painter and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Myers; two sons, Jerry and Kent Myers, both of Fayetteville; four daughters: Cherlyn Jordan of We s t Fo r k, Beverly Vargo of Farmington ; and Mary Parks and Nila Shackelford, both of Elkins; nine grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. Arrangements were by Moore’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. A graveside service was held Tuesday at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with Ray Shackelford officiating.
